Our Laboratory Setup Experience
1. Smart Urban Co-innovation Lab (from July 2019 to July 2021)
This is a facility initiated by ESG Singapore, iMDA and CapitaLand to drive co-innovation across different industrial sectors in smart cities.
We are engaged not only to design, but also coordinate the construction of lab. A challenge is to develop an open-environment that can facilitate organizations to showcase and pilot different network protocols (5G, mmWave, LoRaWAN, etc.), smart IoT devices, cloud platforms, visualization systems (digital twins, AR VR systems), etc.
Upon completion of facility, we are also instrumental in the engagement of MNCs and government agencies. Programmes and events like problem statement calls, cross-countries webinar, etc. are executed to bring organizations together to co-innovate. About 80 organizations signed on to be members of the lab within one year of operation. They include Kone, DHL, Sharp, Helsinki Business Hub, SLA, SFA, NTUC, Resort World Sentosa, SATS, BCA, HIKvision, HDB, Schneider, TPG, AWS, Google, Microsoft, Nvidia, etc.
2. I3 Precision – National University of Singapore Innovation Hub, Singapore
KOOPrime spun off i3 Precision jointly with Red Dot Ventures in 2009. With the focus on product development, an innovation hub is setup with the Engineering Faculty of National University of Singapore. A 5 year plan is mapped out to apply new innovations for the medical sectore. Having mentioned this, expertise are developed in the hardware development of IoT and wearables, AR / VR devices and imaging technologies.
3. HKUST – KOOPrime – Hewlett Packard TCM Genomics Research Centre, Hong Kong
KOOPrime structured a partnership with HKUST and Hewlett Packard to setup a research centre in Hong Kong. The centre not onlyi performed research on TCM, but also served as a base for KOOPrime to jointly develop the Chinese market with Hewlett Packard.
4. Infectious Diseases Surveillance Laboratory, National Institute of Health, Indonesia
KOOPrime was approached by Tecan, a Swiss robotic company, to jointly setup a genomics screening laboratory for the Indonesia National Institute of Health (NIH). Through the implementation of a integrative software platform, NIH is enabled to screen 250,000 subjects for potential infectious diseases hotspots across all the provinces in Indonesia.
5. Genomics Laboratory, Malaysia Agriculture R&D Institute (MARDI), Malaysia
A DNA Sequencing platform was deployed to ease the equipment and data management of DNA sequencers in MARDI.
6. Genomics Laboratory, Malaysia Agriculture R&D Institute (MARDI), Malaysia
We are glad to have the opportunity to work with NCC is the setup of the software platform for it’s DNA Microarray Lab. The platform not only seamlessly integrated the processes in the lab, but also delivered a genomics database for the studies of breast cancer, etc.
7. Genomics Laboratory, Malaysia Agriculture R&D Institute (MARDI), Malaysia
CNPR was a drug discovery centre jointly setup by Glaxo Smith Kline (GSK) and EDB Singapore. We had the opportunity to technology transfer the world largest natural product collection from GSK HQ in UK to Singapore. Upon setup of the lab, daily operations involved screening of thousands of natural product samples for potential bioactivities against infectious diseases, chronic diseases, etc. A high throughput screening software platform was developed from scratch to address the data management and analytical needs as the lab scaled up the screening to millions of samples annually.
